The No. 55 Black Powder Cleaner is applied undiluted to a cleaning plaster (RP-005 or comparable product) and the barrel is wiped through with it. Turn the cleaning patch over and repeat the process with the unused side. The process may be Repeat with another cleaning patch until no more black powder residues are visible on the cleaning patch.

This black powder cleaner is intended for cleaning the barrel immediately after shooting.

In this process, the actual barrel is freed from black powder residues up to the tail screw. Without this cleaning, remaining black powder smoke can combine with the humidity and a sulphurous acid is formed that attacks the inside of the barrel within a few hours.
Before the weapon is put away after pre-cleaning, the space between the barrel and the piston seat/ignition hole seat should be rinsed clean inside with hot water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. To do this, place the barrel in hot rinse water and press the water through the ignition channel with pumping movements with the cleaning stick and a cleaning plaster. Then rinse with boiling hot water and let it dry for a moment using its own heat. Then wipe through several times with a cleaning stick + dry cleaning plaster and then oil.
With No. 55 Black Powder Cleaner you can clean all metal parts from black powder smoke. The No. 55 Black Powder Cleaner does not attack metals or their burnishing/browning/coloured hardening and has a preservative effect.
